Our government is happy to announce the opening of the 2020 Parents and Grandparents Program to build upon this commitment to family reunification.
Family reunification is an important priority of the government. Allowing families to be together, strengthens our communities. Canadians and permanent residents who wish to sponsor their parents and grandparents to come to Canada will have an opportunity to submit an interest to sponsor form online.
- Over a 3-week period, from 12 p.m. EDT on October 13,2020 to 12 p.m. EST on November 3, 2020 the interest to sponsor form will be available online.
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will use a random selection intake process for the 2020 PGP Program.
The random selection intake process randomizes all interest to sponsor submissions received in 2020 and invites a number of potential sponsors to apply, for a maximum of 10,000 applications.
Those invited will have 60 days to submit their application.
