Today the federal government announced the Vaccine Manufacturing facility in Toronto. Vaccines save lives.
We saw how vaccine shortages can occur during pandemics. Canada ‘s ability to manufacture our own vaccines is a step toward self-sufficiency in protecting our own population in the event of shortages while also becoming a supplier to 60 other international markets.
It will be the largest biomanufacturing facility in Canada with over 1,000 employees. This is art of the fed governments plan to strengthen the Life Sciences sector across our country. It gives scientists resources for ground-breaking discoveries, grows our economy, creates well- paying jobs, and protects Canadians’ health.
